Research Interests:

  • What role do bacterial toxins play in bacterial communities?
  • Is the main role of bacterial toxins to defend the producer strain niche by prohibiting invadors or to limit the advance of neighboring cells?
  • What is the impact of biotic and a-biotic conditions on bacterial toxin expression?
  • Could we use bacterial toxins to ameliorate effects of human disturbance and contamination?

Research project for M.Sc.:

  • Investigating the regulation of bacterial toxins.
  • Studying the import of bacterial toxins into cells.
  • Studying the release of bacterial toxins by “suicide” of the producer cell.
  • Using bacterial toxins to detect pathogens in contaminated water.
  • Treating water sources using bacterial toxins.
